Cummins India is listed to report its September-quarter numbers on 4 November 2026. Here are the date check, the high profit base, the Q1 dip, the standalone and consolidated lines that must not be mixed, and the figures to read first.

Updated: Sunday, 1 November 2026, 3:50 PM IST  |  Reading time: 19 min  |  Next update: Wednesday, 4 November 2026, after the exchange filing

Quick answer

Cummins India Q2 results are listed for Wednesday, 4 November 2026 in one weekly list. The base to beat is Rs 637.69 crore standalone profit (up 41.5%) on Rs 3,121.58 crore revenue in Q2 FY26. Q1 FY27 standalone profit fell to Rs 543 crore, so the base is high.

Latest update (Sunday, 1 November 2026, 3:50 PM IST): The results are not out. Kotak Neo’s weekly list shows Cummins India for Wednesday, 4 November; the date rests on that one report and the filing time is not announced. This page becomes the live analysis after the filing.

Earlier entries:

  • Friday, 30 October 2026, 6:00 PM IST: Kotak Neo listed Cummins India among Wednesday’s results.
  • Thursday, 6 August 2026: Q1 FY27 results were reported.

Key takeaways

  • Date: Wednesday, 4 November 2026 from one weekly list; confirm on the exchange page.
  • Base to beat: Q2 FY26 standalone profit Rs 637.69 crore (+41.5%), revenue Rs 3,121.58 crore (+27.5%).
  • Latest quarter: Q1 FY27 standalone profit Rs 543 crore, sales Rs 3,375 crore (+18%).
  • Exports: flat at Rs 521 crore in Q1 against Rs 545 crore in Q2 FY26.

In plain words: Before the Cummins India Q2 results arrive, remember that the company makes engines, generators and power systems, and sells them in India and abroad. Last September was an unusually strong quarter, so the comparison is hard. A preview tells you which figures to hold the new numbers against.

Data note: Figures are as of Sunday, 1 November 2026, 3:50 PM IST. The results date comes from one weekly list; the filing itself was not opened for this page. Base figures are company results as reported by Business Standard and Kotak Neo. Derived numbers are my calculation.

When are the Cummins India Q2 results?

The Cummins India Q2 results date is listed as Wednesday, 4 November 2026. The date rests on one weekly list, so confirm it on the exchange page.

Kotak Neo’s weekly list, posted at 6:00 PM IST on 30 October 2026, names Cummins India among Wednesday’s results, and says dates are based on announced board-meeting schedules and may change. I found no second report that quotes the intimation, so treat the date as likely but unconfirmed.

Last year Business Standard published its Q2 FY26 report at 10:16 AM IST on 7 November 2025, so the results came out by that morning (my inference). Q1 FY27 was reported on 6 August 2026. The filing time is not announced. Do not trust a screenshot that claims a time before the exchange page shows it.

What will Cummins India publish?

Cummins India will publish unaudited standalone and consolidated results for the quarter and half-year ended 30 September 2026. Business Standard quotes the standalone numbers, while Kotak Neo’s page shows the consolidated numbers, so two sets circulate for the same quarter.

What is the base to beat for the Cummins India Q2 results?

The base to beat is Q2 FY26 standalone profit of Rs 637.69 crore on revenue of Rs 3,121.58 crore, against Rs 543 crore and Rs 3,375 crore in Q1 FY27.

Cummins India net profit Q2 FY27: the flat-quarter sum

Here is the first useful sum. Q1 FY27 sales of Rs 3,375 crore are +8.1% above Q2 FY26’s Rs 3,121.58 crore, but Q1 profit of Rs 543 crore is -14.8% against Rs 637.69 crore, and profit before exceptional items of Rs 721 crore is -14.1% against Rs 839.43 crore (my calculations). A flat quarter would therefore show lower profit than last year, because last September was very strong.

How was the Q2 FY26 base built?

Business Standard reported profit up 41.51%, sales up 27.49%, domestic sales up 28% and exports up 24%. The margin was high: profit before exceptional items was 26.9% of sales (839.43 divided by 3,121.58, my calculation), against 21.4% in Q1 FY27. The shares still rose only 1.18% to Rs 4,368 on the day.

Cummins India Q2 results preview: what to expect

No consensus estimate was found for Q2 FY27. The preview rests on the base figures and on the Q1 FY27 trend: strong domestic sales, flat exports and a lower margin.

Item What was reported Source and date Note
Q1 FY27 sales Rs 3,375 crore, +18% YoY, +14% QoQ Business Standard, 6 Aug 2026 Standalone

Cite this table: PositionalCalls, “Cummins India Q2 FY27 Q1 Marks, as of 1 November 2026”.

Business Standard headlined the Q1 outcome as muted, and the shares fell about 1% to Rs 5,385.60 on the day. A separate summary of the same quarter described the profit as down year on year on the standalone basis, so the Q1 trend is a slowdown in profit even as sales grew.

Cummins India EBITDA Q2 FY27: what to expect

Kotak Neo’s page lists Q1 FY27 EBITDA of Rs 753.5 crore in a FAQ, but that page’s own table does not reconcile profit before tax and profit after tax, so I treat the figure as unverified. On total income of Rs 3,563.35 crore it would be about 21.1% (my calculation). Read EBITDA from the filing and not from a summary.

How did the shares react to Q1?

The shares fell about 1% to Rs 5,385.60 on the Q1 release day, against a rise of 1.18% to Rs 4,368 after the Q2 FY26 results. Those are reactions to what the market expected, not forecasts of Q2 FY27.

Cummins India profit Q2 FY27: scenarios

These Cummins India Q2 results scenarios are arithmetic, not forecasts. A flat Q1 profit would be -14.8% on Q2 FY26.

Assumptions: standalone; Q2 FY26 sales Rs 3,121.58 crore; sales growth of 8%, 12% and 16% is my illustration around Q1’s 8.1% rise over the Q2 FY26 base and its 18% YoY growth; profit-before-tax margins of 21.4%, 24.0% and 26.9% run from Q1 FY27 to last September; profit after tax uses the Q1 FY27 ratio of 543 to 721, about 75.3%.

Sales growth on Q2 FY26 PBT margin 21.4% PBT margin 24.0% PBT margin 26.9%
+8% (Rs 3,371 crore) PBT Rs 721 crore; PAT about Rs 543 crore PBT Rs 809 crore; PAT about Rs 609 crore PBT Rs 907 crore; PAT about Rs 683 crore
+12% (Rs 3,496 crore) PBT Rs 748 crore; PAT about Rs 563 crore PBT Rs 839 crore; PAT about Rs 632 crore PBT Rs 940 crore; PAT about Rs 708 crore
+16% (Rs 3,621 crore) PBT Rs 775 crore; PAT about Rs 584 crore PBT Rs 869 crore; PAT about Rs 654 crore PBT Rs 974 crore; PAT about Rs 734 crore

Cite this table: PositionalCalls, “Cummins India Q2 FY27 Profit Scenarios, as of 1 November 2026”.

Three worked examples

  • Margin as in Q1: sales +12% is Rs 3,496 crore and a 21.4% margin gives PBT of Rs 748 crore and PAT of about Rs 563 crore, which is -12% on Rs 637.69 crore (my calculation).
  • Margin in between: 24.0% gives PAT of about Rs 632 crore, -1%.
  • Margin as last September: 26.9% gives about Rs 708 crore, +11%.

The scenarios hold other lines constant. In practice other income, exceptional items, tax and the exchange rate sit between sales and profit, and the margin can swing with the product mix.

Which Cummins India figures should you compare?

When you compare the Cummins India Q2 results with last year, match standalone with standalone. Standalone and consolidated figures differ and both circulate.

Figure Q2 FY26 Q1 FY27 The trap
Standalone profit after tax, Rs crore 637.69 543 Business Standard basis
Consolidated profit after tax, Rs crore Not in sources 609.30 (+0.9% YoY, -6.2% QoQ) Kotak Neo basis
Standalone sales, Rs crore 3,121.58 3,375 Excludes subsidiaries
Consolidated net sales, Rs crore Not in sources 3,426.01 (+17.9%) Adds subsidiaries
Consolidated total income, Rs crore Not in sources 3,563.35 (+17.2%) Includes other income
Kotak Neo FAQ EBITDA, Rs crore Not in sources 753.5 Table does not reconcile; verify

Cite this table: PositionalCalls, “Cummins India Definition-Trap Table, as of 1 November 2026”.

A headline that says profit is flat compares consolidated Rs 609.30 crore with Rs 603.90 crore a year earlier (+0.9%). A headline that says profit fell compares standalone Rs 543 crore with last year’s standalone figure. Both can be correct, and neither compares with Rs 637.69 crore unless it is the standalone line.

The company’s Q1 FY27 standalone profit of Rs 543 crore is lower than the consolidated Rs 609.30 crore by about Rs 66 crore (my calculation), so the gap is large enough to change the growth rate you report.

EBITDA versus profit

EBITDA is earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation. It leaves out finance cost, depreciation and tax, and other income can lift profit before tax without raising EBITDA.

The estimate base trap

A growth rate applied to Rs 637.69 crore and to a consolidated base gives two different profits. Check which line and which quarter an estimate uses before you compare it with the table above.

What do domestic sales, exports and margin need to show?

In the Cummins India Q2 results, domestic sales of Rs 2,854 crore and a margin near 21% are the Q1 marks; exports must recover from Rs 521 crore to match last September.

Line Q2 FY26 Q1 FY27 Source
Domestic sales, Rs crore 2,577 (+28% YoY, +10% QoQ) 2,854 (+22% YoY, +14% QoQ) Business Standard

Cost of materials, Rs crore 1,804.45 (+16.4%) Not in sources Business Standard
Consolidated total expenses, Rs crore Not in sources 2,866.34 (+22.8% YoY) Kotak Neo

Cite this table: PositionalCalls, “Cummins India Domestic and Export Marks, as of 1 November 2026”.

Expenses rose faster than income in Q1 FY27 on Kotak Neo’s consolidated table (22.8% against 17.2%), which fits the margin squeeze described by Business Standard.

For Q2 FY27, domestic growth of 28% last September sets a hard comparison, and exports need to recover for the total to grow strongly.

Which other results land the same week as Cummins India?

Kotak Neo’s weekly list shows Apollo Hospitals, Dabur, BSE, Exide Industries and NHPC on Wednesday too, with Berger Paints on Thursday and Hindalco on Friday.

The list is partial and dates may change. For the format of a results read, see our recent posts on Apollo Hospitals Q2 results, Divi’s Laboratories Q2 results and Berger Paints Q2 results. How to read the Cummins India filing on NSE or BSE

Open the exchange announcement, find the standalone statement first and compare each line with the base table above, same measure, same basis.

  1. Open the BSE corporate announcements page or the NSE corporate filings page and search for Cummins India.
  2. Choose the financial results announcement for the quarter ended 30 September 2026.
  3. Find the standalone statement first, then the consolidated.
  4. Check the unit and whether a column is for the quarter or six months.
  5. Read revenue, profit before exceptional items and tax, and profit after tax.
  6. Find the domestic and export sales split in the press release.
  7. Check the notes for exceptional items.
  8. Compare every figure with the base table.

What it costs: reading a filing is free. If you trade the stock, brokerage, securities transaction tax and other charges apply, so check your broker’s current schedule. Tax angle: dividends and gains follow the current tax rules, so see our guide to capital gains tax on shares or ask a tax adviser. Scam warning: on results day, fake “result alert” groups and sure-shot tips circulate. Nobody can guarantee a gain, and official filings are free.

What are the risks around the Cummins India Q2 results?

Definition riskStandalone and consolidated profit both circulate, and mixing them misstates growth.
Date riskThe 4 November date rests on one partial weekly list and may change.
High-base riskQ2 FY26 profit rose 41.5% at a 26.9% margin, so a flat quarter would show a fall.
Export riskExports were flat in Q1 FY27 and need to recover from Rs 521 crore.
Margin riskExpenses grew faster than income in Q1, and the margin fell 0.7 points YoY.
No consensusNo Q2 profit estimate was found, so there is no market bar to compare with.
Reaction riskThe shares rose only 1.18% on last September’s strong numbers and fell about 1% on Q1.
Information riskOne summary page shows an EBITDA figure that its own table does not support, and I did not open the filing.

How to grade Cummins India’s September-quarter numbers: a reading guide

Use the table to grade the Cummins India Q2 results as a reading aid, not a forecast. The cut-offs are my illustration, built from the Q1 FY27 and Q2 FY26 marks.

Assumptions: standalone; Q2 FY26 sales Rs 3,121.58 crore and profit Rs 637.69 crore; Q1 FY27 profit Rs 543 crore is the lower mark.

Mark Stronger In line Weaker
Sales growth on Q2 FY26 Above 12% 6% to 12% Below 6%
Profit-before-tax margin Above 24% 21% to 24% Below 21%
Standalone profit Above Rs 638 crore Rs 543 to 638 crore Below Rs 543 crore
Export sales Above Rs 545 crore Rs 521 to 545 crore Below Rs 521 crore
Domestic sales growth Above 22% 12% to 22% Below 12%

Cite this table: PositionalCalls, “Cummins India Q2 FY27 Reading Guide, as of 1 November 2026”.

Worked example: suppose sales are Rs 3,500 crore and standalone profit Rs 600 crore. Sales would be up +12.1% (3,500 divided by 3,121.58), profit would be -5.9% on Rs 637.69 crore and +10.5% on Q1 FY27 (my calculation). Sales would read stronger and profit in line, even though profit is lower than last September, which is easy to mistake for weakness.

A strong reading describes the quarter only. It is not a signal to buy, sell or hold, and a weak one is not a signal either. Prices react to many things, including what the market already expected.

The guide to the Cummins India Q2 results uses standalone figures throughout. If a headline quotes consolidated profit, compare it with the consolidated base and say so when you share the number. Mixing the two is a common error on results day, because the company reports both.

What do most people miss on Cummins India results day?

  • The base is unusually high. A 26.9% margin last September against 21.4% in Q1.
  • Sales can grow while profit falls. Q1 sales rose 18% and standalone profit dipped.
  • Two profit lines circulate. Rs 543 crore standalone and Rs 609.30 crore consolidated.
  • Exports are the swing. Flat in Q1 against a 24% rise last year.
  • Last year’s reaction was small. The shares rose only 1.18% on strong numbers.
  • The date is unconfirmed. Verify the Cummins India Q2 results date before you plan around it.

Analyst’s note: how to think about this quarter

  • What stands out (reasoning): a high margin base means the profit comparison is harder than the sales comparison; the margin is the line that decides it.
  • Easy to miss: year-on-year profit can fall even if sales rise by double digits.
  • What would change the view: a margin below 21%, or exports below Rs 521 crore.
  • Caution: one quarter does not fix a long-term value. This page gives no target or recommendation.
  • Reader action: read the same-basis figures first and match each to the base table.

Bottom line

Known: Cummins India is listed for 4 November 2026; the base is Rs 637.69 crore standalone profit on Rs 3,121.58 crore sales, and Q1 FY27 was Rs 543 crore.

Not known yet: the confirmed date, the filing time, the actual figures and any consensus estimate.

Cummins India Q2 results: frequently asked questions

When are the Cummins India Q2 results?

Cummins India is listed to report on Wednesday, 4 November 2026 in Kotak Neo’s weekly list posted on 30 October, which says dates follow announced board meetings and may change. That is a single, partial-list source, so confirm on the BSE or NSE page. The filing time is not announced.

What was Cummins India profit in Q2 FY26?

Business Standard reported standalone profit after tax of Rs 637.69 crore, up 41.51% from Rs 450.61 crore, on revenue from operations of Rs 3,121.58 crore (up 27.49%). Profit before exceptional items and tax was Rs 839.43 crore, up 41.22%.

What did Cummins India report in Q1 FY27?

Standalone profit after tax was Rs 543 crore on sales of Rs 3,375 crore (up 18% YoY, up 14% QoQ), with exports of Rs 521 crore flat on the year, per Business Standard. Consolidated profit was Rs 609.30 crore, up 0.9%.

Why are there two Cummins India profit figures?

Standalone covers the parent company only, and consolidated adds subsidiaries and associates. Q1 FY27 was Rs 543 crore standalone and Rs 609.30 crore consolidated. Compare standalone with standalone, because the Q2 FY26 base of Rs 637.69 crore is standalone.

Is the Cummins India Q2 FY26 profit base high?

Yes. Profit rose 41.5% in Q2 FY26, and the standalone profit before exceptional items margin was about 26.9% (839.43 divided by 3,121.58, my calculation) against 21.4% in Q1 FY27. A flat Q1 profit would be down 14.8% on that base.

How did the shares react to recent results?

Business Standard reported the shares up 1.18% to Rs 4,368 after Q2 FY26 results, and down about 1% to Rs 5,385.60 after Q1 FY27. Those are reactions to what the market expected, not forecasts.

What do domestic and export sales show?

In Q1 FY27 domestic sales were Rs 2,854 crore (up 22%) and exports Rs 521 crore (flat). In Q2 FY26 domestic sales were Rs 2,577 crore (up 28%) and exports Rs 545 crore (up 24%), so exports must grow to match last year.

Do analysts have a Cummins India Q2 profit estimate?

No consensus estimate for Q2 FY27 was found for this page. Treat any estimate you see as one house’s view, and check whether it is standalone or consolidated before comparing it with the table.

Where can I read the Cummins India filing?

Use the BSE corporate announcements page or the NSE corporate filings page and search for Cummins India. Open the standalone and consolidated financial results. Ignore forwarded “result alert” images and messages promising sure-shot calls.

By when must Cummins India publish its Q2 results?

SEBI’s listing regulations give listed companies 45 days after quarter-end for quarterly results. For the quarter ended 30 September 2026 that is 14 November 2026 (my calculation). Last year the results were reported by 7 November 2025.
